Breadth and turnover

Trading volume reached 198.2 million lots, worth 6,378.1 billion rupiah. Of the stocks traded, 391 rose and 315 fell, while 257 were unchanged.

The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) said the index would exclude High Shareholding Concentration (HSC) stocks from its calculation starting 2 November 2026. Jeffrey Hendrik, President Director of the IDX, said the exclusion would not trigger a drastic drop or surge in the index. The weight of the excluded stocks, he said, would be distributed to other constituents.

Data and politics ahead

Indonesia’s manufacturing PMI returned to expansion in September, at 52.48, after contraction in August. Consensus expects October inflation of 0.24% month-on-month and 3.25% year-on-year, with data due on 2 November.

Investors are also watching the US midterm elections on Tuesday 3 November. The contest covers 435 House seats and 35 Senate seats. A Reuters/Ipsos survey completed on 26 October put Trump’s approval rating at 32%.
