Market breadth and turnover

Advancing stocks outnumbered decliners in early trade, with 249 equities rising while 143 stocks dropped. Another 571 stocks remained unchanged.

Early turnover reached Rp248.4 billion across 44,110 transactions, involving a trading volume of 361.7 million shares.

Energy risks and central banks

Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia and shipping disruptions in the Gulf region have threatened global energy supplies, with ongoing disruptions potentially affecting 4 percent of global oil supply. A Saudi pipeline serving as an alternative shipping route bypassing the Strait of Hormuz suffered damage, following a week in which crude prices breached $100 per barrel.

Investors also tracked central bank meetings, including gatherings of the Bank of Japan and the Federal Reserve, which meets on 15-16 September 2026. The US consumer price index rose 0.4 percent month on month in August 2026 after a 0.1 percent gain in July 2026, while core inflation increased 0.3 percent against market expectations of 0.2 percent.
