Inflation and rate worries weigh

The decline was attributed to rising global inflation concerns and interest rate expectations. Higher oil prices were cited as a further factor, with their possible effect on inflation strengthening expectations that interest rates could stay elevated for longer.

Gram gold was quoted at 6,495.31 Turkish lira to buy and 6,496.22 lira to sell. Quarter gold stood at 10,559 lira to buy and 10,639 lira to sell, while half gold was priced at 21,117 lira to buy and 21,271 lira to sell.

Coin and bullion prices

Full gold traded at 42,082.75 lira to buy and 42,912.97 lira to sell. Republic gold, a widely held coin form, was quoted at 42,143 lira to buy and 42,431 lira to sell.

By our own measurement, gold stood at $4,018.27 an ounce as of 01:28 GMT on 23 October 2026, its lowest level in 31 days. CFTC data for the week to 13 October showed speculators holding a net long position of 207,879 contracts in gold, down from 210,335 contracts a week earlier.
