USD/JPY stood at 157.753 yen at 2 November 2026 00:24 GMT, according to MacroHerald’s own measurement. Over the past 31 days the pair has traded between a low of 156.435 and a high of 158.579 yen.

Speculative positioning in the yen

CFTC data for the report of 27 October 2026 shows speculators net long the Japanese yen with 101,591 contracts. A week earlier the same position stood at 69,878 contracts, so the net long grew by 31,713 contracts over that week. The figures describe positioning in futures and do not on their own show what drove the change.

The CFTC series is published weekly, so the latest reading reflects positions as of the report date rather than the current spot rate. The spot level of 157.753 yen sits inside the 31-day range that the pair has covered.
