Positioning and Market Snapshot
Weekly data from the CFTC showed a shift in speculative exposure to the Japanese currency. In the report dated 08 September 2026, speculators were net long by 10,796 contracts, compared with a net short position of 92,227 contracts a week earlier. The shift placed overall positioning on the long side.
Other foreign exchange measurements captured at the same hour showed EUR/USD at $1.1547, sitting near its 19-day low. At the same time, GBP/USD traded at $1.3469, marking its lowest value over the same 19-day span.
