Manufacturing activity in the United Kingdom expanded in September 2026, according to preliminary survey data released on 23 September 2026 at 08:30 GMT. The S&P Global Manufacturing PMI Flash reported a reading of 52 for the month. That figure came in above the market forecast of 51.5, and it was higher than the 51.7 recorded in the previous period.

Survey Measures Factory Output

The index tracks business conditions across the manufacturing sector. A reading above the 50 mark indicates an overall expansion in activity compared to the prior month, whereas a reading below that threshold points to contraction. Purchasing managers provide information on output, new orders, employment, and supplier delivery times.
