Bill on troubled funds advances

The board said a bill on the liquidation of the troubled funds has been submitted to the Grand National Assembly and has already been approved by its Plan and Budget Committee. Interim payments are expected to begin as soon as possible once the bill is enacted by the TBMM General Assembly, the statement said. The government describes the aim as making the liquidation process fair, transparent and legally secured.

The statement also said growth has become more balanced, unemployment and inflation have declined, financial stability has strengthened and fiscal discipline has been established under the economic programme. It pointed to war-related supply shocks and supply chain disruptions as weighing on the global outlook, while adding that authorities expect the effects of recent developments on the financial system and real economy to remain limited.

OECD PISA results cited

The board highlighted Turkey’s performance in the OECD’s PISA 2025 results, saying the country improved across all areas measured. It said Turkey is the only OECD country to have improved its performance over the last 10 years.

Separately, the US unemployment rate stood at 4.2 percent in September, its highest reading in 31 days.
