U.S. President Donald Trump said he expects oil prices to fall soon amid high levels of recent oil shipments, speaking ahead of the November 3 midterm elections.
High volume of oil shipments noted
Trump said millions of barrels of oil were shipped in the past few days, reaching levels equalling or exceeding those before the recent conflict. He added that the Hormuz Strait remains open for these shipments.
The president emphasized the scale of these shipments as remarkable, highlighting the recovery of oil flow through the key maritime passage.
Comments ahead of midterm elections
Speaking while leaving the White House to attend an event in Baltimore, Trump expressed confidence in the success of the Republican Party in the upcoming November 3 congressional elections. He said rallies he held have reversed political trends in some places.
Trump also remarked on the poor economic situation in Iran and mentioned the resignation of Iran’s oil minister, Mohsin Paknejad, in this context.
