McDonald’s reported earnings per share of $3.57 for the third quarter of fiscal 2026, against a forecast of $3.42, a gap of $0.15 or 4.4% above the forecast. Revenue for the period came in at $7.2 billion, below the $7.4 billion forecast by $200.4 million, or 2.7%.

Earnings and revenue against forecast

The earnings figure was above the forecast while the revenue figure was below it, so the two measures pointed in opposite directions against expectations. Earnings per share ended the quarter at $3.57. Revenue, by contrast, was $7.2 billion, short of the $7.4 billion that had been forecast for the period.

The company published the results in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission on 4 November 2026, and the figures in this report are taken from that filing. The filing covers the third quarter of fiscal 2026, and the company’s fiscal year does not necessarily match the calendar year.

In markets the same day, the Nasdaq Composite stood at 25,372.01 points at the close of 3 November 2026, up 0.83% from the previous close. The index was near its 31-day low.
