Global currency breakdown

Dollar sales led the offshore issuance. Global Green Sukuk totaled $7.7 billion between 2018 and August 30, 2026, translating to Rp135.75 trillion at a conversion rate of 17,630 rupiah per dollar. The government also issued 2.45 billion euros of Global SDG Bonds between 2021 and August 30, 2026, which equaled Rp50.34 trillion at 20,550 rupiah per euro.

Asia-Pacific markets supplied additional foreign currency funding. Samurai Blue Bonds reached 55.90 billion yen from 2023 to August 2026, equal to Rp6.32 trillion at 113.21 rupiah per yen. Kangaroo Bonds raised 600 million Australian dollars in 2025. That equaled Rp7.61 trillion at 12,699 rupiah per Australian dollar.

Chinese debt markets supplied the remaining offshore financing. Dim Sum Bonds brought 15.25 billion offshore yuan across 2025 and 2026, representing Rp40.14 trillion at 2,632 rupiah per offshore yuan. Panda Bonds raised 7 billion onshore yuan in 2026. That generated Rp18.38 trillion at 2,626 rupiah per onshore yuan.

Domestic market issuance

Suminto noted that these initiatives comprise thematic formats that support development in sustainability, spanning green sukuk, social bonds, blue bonds, and related instruments. Domestic thematic sovereign bond issuance reached a total value of Rp134.83 trillion across several local programmes.
