Domestic and global drivers
Market attention on the day included domestic government policy, conditions in the banking industry, and liquidity, alongside a decline on Wall Street. Investors were also weighing remarks by President Prabowo Subianto on natural resource management and the streamlining of state-owned enterprises.
The Indonesia Stock Exchange will exclude High Shareholding Concentration stocks from IHSG calculation starting 2 November 2026; until now only Papan Akselerasi stocks had been excluded from the index.
Japan inflation in focus
Japan’s September headline inflation came in at 2.1 percent on an annual basis, up from 1.9 percent in the two prior months. Core inflation excluding fresh food also rose to 2.1 percent, up from 1.7 percent in August.
The data, released Friday morning, matched market expectations.
