Neocloud stocks were hit on talk that CoreWeave could use equity to meet its debt obligations. The SOX chip index has now fallen for eight consecutive days. The Nasdaq 100 recorded its largest weekly decline since April 2025.

Oil, gold and yields

WTI crude oil rose $3.40 to $101.37 a barrel in the US afternoon, with the risk of a US escalation in Iran over the weekend cited as the driver. Gold fell $2 to $4168 an ounce. By our market data, WTI closed at $101.91 on 14 October 2026, and gold stood at $4,164.39 an ounce as of 17 October 2026 01:13 GMT.

US 10-year yields fell 2 basis points to 5.09 percent. By our market data, the 10-year yield closed at 5.10 percent on 15 October 2026.

Warsh and the week ahead

Warsh gave little indication of his leaning ahead of the upcoming meeting. The silence was generally seen as an endorsement of current market pricing. The US dollar slumped, which the source links to AI investment, while the NZD was the top performer among major currencies.
