Inflation data and current rates

Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) reported that the monthly inflation rate was 1.84 percent in September, with the annual inflation rate at 29.73 percent. These figures provide the latest inflation backdrop for the central bank’s upcoming decision.

At its September Monetary Policy Committee (PPK) meeting, the CBRT held the one-week repo auction interest rate steady at 37 percent. The overnight lending and borrowing interest rates remained unchanged at 40 percent and 35.5 percent, respectively.

Market outlook ahead of decision

Economists have indicated that interest-rate cuts could be possible during the remainder of 2026, making the October decision a key focus for investors and analysts. Expectation surveys regarding the PPK meeting on 22 October are being closely followed.
