The Russian government has extended its ban on exports of diesel, marine fuel and gas oil by direct producers until 31 January 2027. The previous deadline was 31 October.
A written government statement said the measure is aimed at keeping the domestic fuel market stable. Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian oil refineries have taken many facilities offline, and fuel sales are restricted in some regions.
Earlier easing and the US deal
Russia had already imposed bans on gasoline and diesel exports. After a deal with the US on 9 October, it partially eased the diesel export ban the next day.
In that first stage, 500 thousand tonnes of fuel were allowed to flow to world markets.
Domestic supply under pressure
The government has framed the restrictions around supply at home.
The new deadline runs well beyond the earlier one.
