Market expects no change in rates

Markets expect the Fed to keep its benchmark rate unchanged in the 3.75 percent to 4.00 percent range. Per CME Group’s FedWatch tool, Fed Funds futures imply a 91 percent probability of no change at the Federal Open Market Committee meeting.

By our market data, as of 12:46 GMT, the US federal funds rate stood at 3.88 percent, in force since 26 October 2026.

Bolsonaro travel adds to political noise

Flávio Bolsonaro, a senator defeated in the Brazilian presidential race, travelled to the United States on Tuesday, according to a close ally and a US government source cited by Reuters. The trip came a day after Supreme Court minister Alexandre de Moraes ordered him to surrender his passports.
