Trade Minister Ömer Bolat told the Plan and Budget Committee that TRY 65 billion will be allocated in 2027 to support goods and services exporters. He presented the 2027 budgets of the Trade Ministry and its affiliated bodies to the Turkish parliament.

Bolat said annualised goods exports reached a record $285.6 billion in October. Exports have reached $413 billion so far, against the $410 billion target that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced at the start of 2026.

Support spending rises

Bolat said $273.2 billion in goods exports in 2025 compared with $36 billion in 2002. Services exports rose to $124.9 billion from $14 billion over the same period, leaving a services surplus of $63 billion.

Export support provided to 22,686 goods exporters totalled TRY 23.5 billion in 2025. A further TRY 32.8 billion has been allocated for goods exporters in 2026, of which TRY 21.2 billion has already reached 15,914 firms.

Imports and the deficit

Annualised imports stood at $380.8 billion in October. Bolat attributed the rise in energy imports to higher world prices, and he cited the Iran-US-Israel war as a risk to the global economy and trade.
