Gold prices moved lower on 20 October 2026 ahead of the US Federal Reserve’s interest rate decision, which is due next week. By our market data, gold stood at $4,119.73 an ounce as of 06:17 GMT, near its 31-day low.

The decline was attributed to the dollar’s trend and to expectations for interest rates. Traders are watching the Fed closely after the federal funds rate was set at 3.88 percent on 16 October.
